Takashi Arai's first US show, "Flawless Lakes" features 20 daguerreotypes plus large scale color prints. These peaceful images were taken in Hokkaido in the northern part of Japan. The opening reception for "Flawless Lakes" is November 12th at 7:00pm.
Takashi Arai's visit to the US will coincide with the Daguerreian Society's Annual Conference which will be held in Philadelphia this year. In conjunction with this event, Arai will be teaching a workshop on creating daguerreotypes at our studio November 7th and 8th. Project Basho will also be hosting a panel discussion with Takashi Arai and other contemporary practitioners on Friday, November 13th.

個展「Flawless Lakes」はフィラデルフィアの写真センター、Project Bashoにて開催された。展示は2009年夏に道東を旅して撮影した湖のシリーズ、「Flawless Lakes」から約20点のダゲレオタイプ、8x10カラーネガから制作した40x50インチの大判インクジェットプリントによる構成。
期間中、水銀現像ダゲレオタイプの実制作ワークショップも行われ、アメリカ国内の各地から参加者が訪れた。
