To celebrate the 170th anniversary of the disclosure of daguerreotype and diorama technologies Louis Daguerre, "Magicien de l'Image" Association and the Adrien Mentienne Museum in Bry-sur-Marne organized a major exhibition of contemporary daguerreotypes from all over the world. This exhibition of contemporary daguerreotypes was unique in Europe.
Exhibition of 300 contemporary daguerreotypes, belonging to 50 daguerreotypists from all over the world (England, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, United States, Spain, Italy, Canada, Russia, Poland, Argentina, etc.) This exhibition will show the diversity of themes explored by this medium as well as the finesse of the different artistic routes of theirs authors.
A room in the exhibition was dedicated to the invention of dioramas. The last diorama painted by Daguerre is being restored in Bry-sur-Marne and will be shown as well.
Takashi exhibited 6 daguerreotypes form the series of "flawless lakes," and one of them was selected and purchased by the Adrien Mentienne Museum as a permanent collection.

世界初の写真技法ダゲレオタイプ公表から170周年にあたる2009年秋、フランス、パリ近郊のブリに現存するルイ・ジャック・マンデ・ダゲール邸（現・ブリ市庁舎）で、大規模な現代ダゲレオタイプ展が開催された。ブリは、ダゲレオタイプ発明者の一人・ダゲールが晩年暮らした町で、ダゲールが制作した教会ジオラマ（大型の油絵と照明効果を利用したイリュージョン装置）も2014年の公開を目指して修復作業が進められている。
「Héritages de Daguerre」（ダゲールの遺産）と題された本展には、世界各地から約50人のダゲレオタイピストが集結し、約300点の現代ダゲレオタイプが展示された。
新井は「Flawless Lakes」のシリーズから6点を出品し、このうち1点が美術館買い上げとなり、ダゲール・コレクションとして収蔵された。
